Over 1,000 pet mice and rats are now available for adoption after Lollypop Farm was awarded legal custody of these small friends.
To provide an opportunity to learn about and adopt these animals , Lollypop Farm is hosting a family-friendly "It’s a Small World (after all)" mice and rat adoption event on Sunday, June 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their main campus on 99 Victor Road, Fairport.
Lollypop's Director of Communications Ashley Zeh and 10-year-old Jenna Repich and her two pet rats joined Good Day Rochester to demonstrate how to care for rats and mice and the valuable social experience our little friends provide for children.
Adoption fees are $5/mouse and $10/rat. Mice and rats are social animals, so some may be available as a 2-for-1 if they have been living together in the same cage/tank for some time. The first 100 mice adopters will receive a free kit to get them started including a 10-gallon tank, water bottle, food bowl, litter and food for the first few days.
