Jake Owen to headline Detroit Mountain fundraiser on July 2

Music on the Mountain will also feature special guests John Morgan and George Birge

DETROIT LAKES — Country star Jake Owen will be in Detroit Lakes for the July 4 holiday weekend, as headliner for the 7th Annual Music on the Mountain fundraiser on Saturday, July 2.

Owen, a chart-topping country singer-songwriter who has eight Billboard No. 1 hits to his name, will be joined at this year's Detroit Mountain fundraiser by special guests John Morgan and George Birge.

Music on the Mountain supports capital improvements at Detroit Mountain Recreation Area. Past events have supported the build and expansion of the Landslide Tubing Park, adding an additional snow-making well to increase winter snow output, as well as paving the road into DMRA.

Gates open at the west side of the Detroit Mountain Lodge at 5:30 p.m. The music starts at 6:15 with John Morgan, followed by George Birge at 7:45 p.m. Owen is expected to take the stage shortly after Birge finishes his set at 8:45.

Music on the Mountain is an all ages event, but children should be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Show will go on rain or shine, so please plan accordingly. This is an outdoor event and the lodge will not be open to the general public. Seating will be general admission (GA) lawn seating. Chairs will not be provided so please bring your own lawn chairs and/or blankets.

On-site parking will be limited. Carpooling is highly recommended. Off-site parking is recommended and available at M State, 900 Highway 34 E Detroit Lakes, 3.5 miles east of Detroit Mountain, and there will be free shuttles available to transport guests between M State and Detroit Mountain from 5 p.m. to midnight.

Regional food trucks will be available throughout the night. Beverage tickets will be sold on a cash only basis; ATMS are available on site.
