Providence Police Arrest Man After Leaving Club With Gun and Open Container

Providence police arrested a man after leaving a club in the city early Friday morning.
Johsua Pimental, age 21, is being charged with refusal to submit to a chemical test, operating a vehicle with unsealed alcoholic beverage, and illegal possession of a firearm.

About Incident
Shortly after 1 AM Friday morning, Providence police on patrol in the Broad Street area said they observed Pimental exit Aqua Bar & Lounge and get into his car.
According to police, Pimental began to drive erratically, with oncoming vehicles flashing their lights.
Police said they conducted a traffic stop of Pimental’s vehicle at the intersection of Broad and Aldrich Street, and detected a strong odor of alcohol.
Due to what police said was Pimental’s suspicious behavior, they asked him to exit the vehicle; police said they found a cup containing alcohol, an open liquor bottle, as well as a gun.
Pimental refused to submit to a chemical test.
