New Jersey is getting a new fine-dining Asian eatery thanks to Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto.
Plans are in motion to open Sa’Moto at one of New Jersey’s most popular malls, Westfield Garden State Plaza.
Sa’Moto, headed by Iron Chef Morimoto, will open in Paramus in the next six to eight months, according to NorthJersey.com. An official opening date has yet to be announced.
The restaurant will occupy the space of a former Kids Foot Locker on the mall’s upper level.
The Paramus location will be Sa’Moto’s first in New Jersey and third in the country. The other two are located in California and New York.
Sa’Moto offers dim sum, ribs, edamame, seafood, ramen and wonton soups, sushi, bao and more.
The pan-Asian eatery will join the Garden State Plaza’s selection of fine-dining restaurants, like Eddie V’s, Fogo De Chão and Seasons 52.
Eddie V’s and Seasons 52 have recently opened at the mall, while Fogo De Chão is expected to open later this year.
Chef Masaharu Morimoto starred in Fuji Television’s “Iron Chef” and Food Network’s “Iron Chef America.”
Morimoto has also authored two cookbooks and received numerous culinary accolades.
