The 23rd Annual Charlevoix Summer Art Show is this weekend in Charlevoix’s East Park.

CHARLEVOIX — Charlevoix's East Park will soon welcome in the summer season with this weekend's 23rd annual Summer Art Show.

The art show is an annual one that, this year, will feature over 60 local and regional artists in all sorts of different mediums to create an atmosphere and market with something for everyone.

"The show will have all sorts of things like jewelry, photography, illustrations, woodwork, Petoskey stone art and jewelry, home decor and lots of paintings," said Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce Event Coordinator Caitlin Cole.

The show itself takes place on the shores of Round Lake in downtown Charlevoix's East Park with artists spread out across the entirety of the park.

This year's show will feature art from the likes of Barbara Scraggs, Trish Wesener, Chris Rounds, Jeff Nelson, Rodney Bell, Kathleen Ericson, Kerry Driver, Gary Odmark and many more.

Gary Odmark is pictured painting oil on canvas at the 22nd annual Charlevoix Summer Art Show.

"It's always been a nice show and this is just as great in that we are showcasing local artists and a few from out of town again this year," said Cole.

"It's just another great event to bring people out to enjoy a day spending some time in downtown with the family to see some wonderful art," she said.

Cole explained that the upcoming weekend-long art show will takeover East Park right in the heart of downtown.

The layout will have each artists tent's sprawled out and lined up across the park and everyone and anyone is welcome to stroll through the show. However, it is asked that people leave their pets at home as the City of Charlevoix has an ordinance against allowing pets within the event area.

Above all though, Cole said she is excited to see all of the artwork and people enjoying summer while out and about in downtown.

"History tells us that this has always been a well attended event and a well liked one in the area," she said.

"I'm excited to see people enjoying the event and their time here in Charlevoix."

The upcoming Summer Art Show will take place 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday.
