A woman is dead after a shooting late Thursday night at a bar in Uniontown, Fayette County.
Police responded to McPatton's Pub on North Gallatin Avenue around 10:30 p.m.
Officers on scene found the victim, 34-year-old Samantha Harden, of Uniontown, on the road.
“Our call was a shots fired call. We revealed that there was five shots into the building, and one shot was into our victim,” Lt. Thomas Kolencik of the Uniontown Police Department said.
Neighbors could hear the commotion from inside their homes.
“I heard the gunshots going off, and that's all I heard, it scared me-- I came to the door, and looked out the door right here,” Paul Workman said.
Kolencik says there was a small verbal altercation inside the pub and a short time later, shots rang out.
“It wasn't very crowded, and a lot of people just weren't paying attention. It wasn't a big fight. It was a small argument, and we don't even know if that is related to the homicide,” Lt. Kolencik said.
At this time, police do not have any suspects.
Investigators spent hours in the area collecting evidence and talking to witnesses. The Uniontown Police Department continues to investigate with the assistance of state police.
“Emotions were high, alcohol is involved, so once the smoke clears a little bit, we will go back. Re-interview some people, try to get some better video, try to get some more video, and hopefully we can make an arrest,” Lt. Kolencik said.
