The Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a summer candidate forum to give residents a chance to hear from local candidates for Adair County Offices and State Representatives.
The Chamber of Commerce hosted a Q&A session last night with candidates running for Adair County Presiding Commissioner, Clerk of the Circuit Court, Prosecuting Attorney, and candidates running for District #3 State Representative.
Each candidate got two minutes to introduce themselves and answer 3 questions asked by a moderator.
Residents also saw a five-minute presentation on the renewal of device fees for Adair County E-911 services.
The $1.00 tax affects all devices that can call 911, which goes towards 25% of the Adair County E-911 to provide those services in Adair County.
"When we first started this, we didn't know for sure that would be enough to support it, but it does seem like it's supporting it well," said Adair County 911 Joint Services Board Vice Chair Don Crosby. "We've got some grant money, we've done some efficiencies, we've been able to make improvements without asking for more money. So we're just asking the voters to consider renewing that $1 per device, cell phone device fee."
We will be hearing from the candidates throughout the weekend.
Stay tuned to KTVO News at 6 on Friday to hear from the candidates for Prosecuting Attorney.
