Turner earns Holmes Scholarship

Edenton Tea Party Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) has awarded Amanda Turner the chapter’s Margaret Austin Holmes Scholarship.

The Scholarship, which is presented annually to a John A. Holmes High School senior, is made possible from an endowment provided in memory of Margaret Austin Holmes, an Edenton Tea Party Chapter founding member. Mrs. Holmes, who was North Carolina State Regent from 1958 to 1961, and North Carolina State Vice Regent from 1955 to 1958, was the Edenton Tea Party Chapter Regent from 1953 to 1955.
