Per ESPN front office insider Bobby Marks, Melton will make $8.25 million in 2022-23 and $8 million in 2023-24, with $1.5 million guaranteed in the final year - so, for the cap math to work, the Sixers will need Green's $10 million deal to become guaranteed. He has a non-guaranteed contract for 2022-23 that is set to become fully protected on July 1.

Melton, 24, was a 2018 second-round pick by Daryl Morey and the Rockets, but was traded to Phoenix on draft night and spent one season there before heading to Memphis in 2019-20. Last season, Melton played 73 games for the Grizzlies, averaging 10.8 points and 4.5 rebounds, and he has averaged 8.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 235 career games.

Memphis signed Melton to a four-year, $34.6 million deal in November 2020, so the Sixers will inherit the final two years of that deal.

Roddy, who also had offers to play quarterback in college, averaged 15.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game over three seasons at Colorado State. In 2021-22, he averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 boards, and 2.9 assists in 31 games en route to becoming the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year and an Honorable Mention All-American.

Green, 34, averaged 5.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in 62 games last season, but suffered a torn ACL and LCL in the playoffs, and will likely miss part of 2022-23. Over his career, he has averaged 8.7 points and 3.4 rebounds in 13 seasons with Philly, Cleveland, San Antonio, Toronto, and the Lakers.
