New Jersey tight end Will Dixon becomes second verbal commitment to WVU on Thursday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Tight end Will Dixon continued a productive recruiting day for the West Virginia coaching staff. On Thursday evening, Dixon became the second verbal commitment to join the Mountaineers. Ohio running back/defensive back Jordan Jackson also pledged his commitment on Thursday afternoon.

Dixon graduated from Hillsborough High School in New Jersey this spring. He previously announced he would attend Blair Academy and reclassify for the Class of 2023.

Pittsburgh presented Dixon with a scholarship offer on Wednesday. He also holds Division I offers from Akron, Appalachian State, Bryant, Coastal Carolina, UConn, Fordham, Jacksonville State, James Madison, Liberty, Maine, Marshall, Monmouth, Old Dominion and Temple. Dixon previously committed to Akron a year ago.

Hillsborough won the 2021 New Jersey South Group V state championship with a 13-0 record. Dixon caught 30 passes for 404 yards with 4 touchdowns. On defense, Dixon made 52 tackles [23 for loss] with 13 sacks.
