[UPDATE 6:10 p.m.] Pedestrian Injured After Struck by Vehicle on Broadway
About 5:55 p.m., a vehicle struck a pedestrian on northbound Broadway at West Washington near Don’s Rental.
An ambulance is taking the pedestrian to the hospital.
Traffic is backing up in both directions. Northbound traffic is barely crawly as vehicles are being diverted onto West Washington.

It could be speed, but it likely is not due to driving fast. That spot is a natural invisible bottleneck.
I walked from the Co-Op to Wabash right before this happened, must have just missed it. %98 of the people I crossed paths with on my walk would be doing themselves a favor by walking into oncoming traffic. There are so many drug addicts walking around like zombies or passed out on the sidewalk!!! The cops should give out the confiscated fentanyl in order to thin the zombie herd.
Perhaps all the confiscated fentanyl could be used to augment California’s Needle Exchange Program.

This vehicle verses pedestrians is getting out of hand, and somehow needs to be stopped. I wish I had the magic cure, but I don’t. Sometimes it is the vehicle and other times it is the pedestrian. I hope the person that was hit will be ok.
