Four Pa. men charged in shooting that police say is likely related to homicide

SUNBURY – Four men have been charged in a Sunbury shooting that police say might be retaliation for the May 19 homicide inside a convenience store.

Isaac Holley, 18, of Northumberland, and Reggie Houseal Jr., 19, and Francky Riche, 30, both of Sunbury, were arraigned Thursday.

An arrest warrant has been obtained for Anthony Dayquon Moultrie, 26, also of Sunbury, police Chief Brad Hare said.

Charges against Riche and Moultrie include attempted homicide. Houseal and Holley are facing the same charge but as accomplices.

The four are charged in connection with a shooting that occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on June 15 in the 100 block of South Third Street.

Seven shots from two guns were fired from an SUV at a passenger car, police said. No one was injured but an unoccupied vehicle was struck, they said.

The female passenger in the vehicle at which shots were fired has been identified as the sister of Ajani Munsh-Ousha Uhuru, who is charged with killing Kareem Jakes, 30, inside the Penn Jersey Mart in the 200 block of North Third Street.

She told police she has been receiving death threats from a man she alleges is Riche.

She described the shooting that police said was captured on private video surveillance as the vehicles traveled south on Third Street.

Holley admitted driving the SUV owned by his mother and that he picked up three individuals that evening after a ceremony for Jakes, investigators said.

He told police, according to the arrest affidavit:

  • He was told to follow the passenger vehicle and as he did, Moultrie, the front seat passenger, started shooting at it with a handgun.
  • He feared for his life and after driving a short distance after the shots were fired he told the others to get out. He identified one of the backseat passengers by the street name Zoe.

Houseal when interviewed admitted being in the SUV and said he told Holley to stop the vehicle after the shots were fired. He claimed Zoe used a gun given to him by a female, the affidavit states.

One of the guns used in the shooting has been recovered, police said.

Holley when re-interviewed Wednesday admitted knowing who was driving the passenger vehicle and claimed he wanted to fight him, the affidavit states.

It also states he admitted being at the Penn Jersey store before the shooting, speaking with a relative of Jakes and getting a phone call from Moultrie asking to be picked up down the block.

Store video confirmed the SUV and Holley were observed there just before 10 p.m., police said.

The investigation has confirmed Zoe is Riche, police said.

Uhuru’s preliminary hearing on charges that include homicide and involuntary manslaughter that was scheduled for Friday has been continued.

He is accused of fatally shooting Jakes after they got into an argument inside the store. According to the arrest affidavit:

Store video shows Jakes standing behind Uhuru at the checkout and punching him several times. Uhuru is seen pulling a handgun and firing several times, causing Jakes to fall over backward. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Uhuru is seen grabbing a drink from the counter, leaving the store and driving off in the BMW.

Uhuru’s father Ajani Munsho Uche Uhuru, 54, of Sunbury, is charged with hindering apprehension.
