SUBLETTE COUNTY – At the conclusion of four days of competition, 12-year-old Kandis Johnston of Pinedale was named Preteen Little Miss Wyoming.
In addition to the crown she earned through the Little Miss Wyoming Scholarship Program, she won the overall talent award by showcasing her self-taught ukulele skills and received her division’s community service award.
Competitions within the contest included talent, casual wear, introduction, personality, on-stage questions, interview and party wear. Part of the contest required her to choose a platform she was passionate about. Johnston decided to bring awareness to Wyoming’s wild mustangs in efforts to get them adopted into quality homes.
She hopes to continue her community service goal of tallying 100 hours of service this year.
