SHAWANO (WLUK) -- It bills itself as an event where you can enjoy the great outdoors from the water, and the land.
The annual Wolf River "Paddle and Pedal" is Sunday. It has been rescheduled from Saturday, because of the weather.
The day begins at Judd Park in Shawano, with some yoga.
"We would like the paddlers to stretch a little bit. But also, the yoga's free and open to anybody," said Nancy Brown-Koeller, Shawano Pathways President.
Brown-Koeller is president of the non-profit organization Shawano Pathways. The group promotes public trails and greenways in the area.
"We like to call attention to what's nice and fun to do in Shawano County," she said.
Great Wolf Tubing Company is across the street. The owner is helping coordinate canoe and kayak rentals.
"We organize that, and help get people on the water, that don't have the kayaks, or means necessary to get there," said Jeff Kammerer, Great Wolf Tubing Company Owner.
Kammerer says the seven or eight-mile trek downstream is relatively simple.
"It's all lazy river type scenery. There's no rapids, rocks or anything to deal with, so it's a real nice, smooth trip. Nothing too adventurous, but yet, you can get out and enjoy the nature and what Shawano has to offer on the river," he said.
When paddlers get to Wayside Park, known locally as the "Triple C Boat Landing," it's time to land, and switch to their bicycles parked on site.
"We'll have a greeter down there, but we're giving you some hearty snacks, so you can bike back," said Brown-Koeller.
Brown-Koeller says cyclists will choose three routes, ranging from 8, to 14, to 22 miles.
"It's all pretty rolling countryside. Nothing really hard at any of those. Just depending on how much you want to bike," she said.
The pedal ends where the paddle began at Judd Park, but the event and fundraiser continues with a brat fry at Great Wolf Tubing.
The paddle and pedal event costs $25.
