STEVENS POINT - One woman died and four first responders suffered minor injuries from a structure fire in Stevens Point Thursday morning.
The fire department received a call just after 7:00 in the morning about a house fire the area of Koch and Prairie Street. The fire and police departments saw heavy black smoke and flames from an apartment building upon arrival. The fire was contained to one unit.
The woman was taken to Aspirus Stevens Point and was later pronounced dead. Two firefighters/paramedics and two police officers, all from Stevens Point, were seen at Aspirus and released.
