GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — With summer here, the Green Bay Police Department wants to make sure everyone knows the law when it comes to electric scooters and electric bikes.

When they are being self-propelled and not pushed or pedaled, e-scooters are considered motor vehicles and treated like any other motor vehicle on the road.

So, if you are driving drunk on an e-scooter or e-bike you are still operating while intoxicated and can be arrested for it.

This year the city of Green Bay partnered with the company Bird to provide access to electric bikes and scooters in downtown Green Bay.
