Nekoosa man dies following Wednesday motorcycle crash in Wood County

NEKOOSA – A 37-year-old Nekoosa man is dead following a motorcycle crash Wednesday evening. 

At 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a motorcycle with one person on it crashed near Point Basse Avenue and Lynn Hill Road, according to the Nekoosa Police Department. 

The 37-year-old man was going north on Point Basse Avenue when he left the road about a third mile north of Lynn Hill Road. The Life Link helicopter took the man to Marshfield Medical Center, where doctors later pronounced him dead, according to police. 

Nekoosa First Responders, Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department paramedics, Wood County Sheriff's Office and Wood County Rescue assisted at the scene.
