A 26-year-old woman from Virginia was arrested after authorities said she shot multiple rounds at sheriff's deputies.

Authorities in Bassett said Heather Hart is facing multiple charges, including four counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, as well as the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office said dispatchers received a call Wednesday around 9:20 p.m. EDT about someone who was "hearing voices" on Pine Valley Drive.

The caller told authorities the person was armed with a gun and outside a home.

Four deputies responded to the scene.

Officials said when they started moving toward the home, the woman began firing a gun from the woods in an "ambush-style attack".

The sheriff's office said the suspect fired multiple rounds.

Authorities said the deputies tried to find cover as the suspect moved through the woods and continued to shoot their gun for approximately 20 minutes.

Around 11 p.m. EDT, a tactical team responded to the home and took Hart into custody.

Authorities said she is in the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond.
