Bystanders help mom and three kids trapped in SUV in Ocean Springs

Passersby who saw an accident that injured a mother and trapped three children inside their car leaped into action to get the people out of the vehicle.

Video of the accident was provided by Ken Conn, who said the accident happened about 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon on Highway 90 in front of the Ocean Springs Walmart.

A woman in a white SUV was in traffic on Highway 90 when another vehicle turned into traffic and the vehicles collided.

Conn said the white SUV flipped and rolled several times, landing upside down in a ditch.

Three girls between four and six years old were trapped and bystanders got them out of the vehicle, then righted the SUV, and got the mom out.

Police, fire, and EMS arrived and took over the scene.
