Man killed, 2 others injured in Center Point crash

CENTER POINT Ala. (WBRC) - A single-vehicle crash claimed a man’s life and injured two others.

Shortly before noon on June 23, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 1700 block of Carson Road in Center Point to investigate a single-vehicle accident. Upon arrival, deputies found a silver Mercury that had left the roadway and traveled down a ravine, striking multiple trees.

Police say one adult passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The Jefferson County coroner identified the victim as 33-year-old Nathan Nigel Wilson, Jr. of Birmingham.

Investigators said a juvenile and the adult driver were taken to local hospitals. The adult is reportedly in critical condition, while the condition of the juvenile is currently unknown.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team has responded to the location and is conducting an investigation into the cause and circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
