Covington police are investigating a shooting that happened Thursday morning. The shooting prompted a brief lockdown of Pine View Middle School. According to police, the shooting was reported in the area of N. Filmore Street and W. 29th Avenue after a report of shots fired. Police say there was a temporary lockdown of Pine View Middle School out of precaution due to the school being in close proximity to the shooting scene. The lockdown has since been lifted and there was no threat to students. No injuries have been reported in the shooting, and officers are still processing the scene. Residents are asked to avoid the area while officers continue to work the scene.
