TWO ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES IN MULTI-COUNTY INVESTIGATION

Two men were arrested Wednesday after a traffic stop in Fayette County resulted in drugs being located at a home in Colorado County.

Fayette County Sheriff’s investigators stopped a passenger vehicle around noon on Highway 77 at Country Club Drive in La Grange.  A K9 was called to the scene and detected an odor of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle.

Authorities searched the vehicle and seized 1.1 kilograms of cocaine and 2.8 ounces of methamphetamine.

As a result of the traffic stop, members of the Westside Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant around 2 p.m. at a home in the 400 block of East Jackson Street in Weimar.  The operation led to the discovery of two additional kilograms of cocaine.

Octaviano Alejandro

30-year-old Ismael Trujillo of Weimar and 51-year-old Alejandro Octaviano Jr. of California were arrested for Possession of Controlled Substances and taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center in La Grange.

The Westside Narcotics Task Force covers four counties and includes investigators from the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, Bellville Police Department, Sealy Police Department, Hempstead Police Department, Waller County Sheriff’s Office, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and United States Drug Enforcement Administration.  The Colorado County Attorney’s Office and the Weimar Police Department assisted with the investigation, which is ongoing.
