2-year-old drowns in Dry Ridge

DRY RIDGE, Ky. (FOX 56) – Kentucky State Police responded to a call of an unresponsive two-year-old girl in Dry Ridge on June 16.

Upon arrival, the police said life-saving measures were being administered by a family member on the scene. Grant County Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene and took over attempting to resuscitate the girl.

She was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital where police said they were able to detect a pulse. She was then life-flighted to the University of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for further treatment.

On Wednesday, the police said they were contacted by the hospital in Cincinnati where they were told the girl was pronounced dead at 6:11 p.m.

At this time there is no foul play suspected and this case remains under investigation.
