A Texas man charged with burglarizing multiple Grand Island businesses has taken a plea deal.
Aaron Faz, 19, pled no contest to two counts of burglary. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dismissed an additional count of burglary and a second case where Faz was charged with one additional count of burglary.
The two counts Faz pled no contest to are related to the burglary of Mirror Image Car Wash, 2151 N. Diers Ave., and Alohma Vapors, 2390 N. Diers Ave, Suite 101, both in Grand Island, last August.
GIPD said officers responded to Alohma Vapors in reference to a glass window being broken. It was reported that someone gained access to the business and stole an estimated $5,000 worth of vapor items including e-liquid, nicotine pouches and vaping cartridges.
A short time later, officers responded to the burglary at Mirror Image. Upon arrival, officers discovered the front glass of the office was broken and someone stole an undisclosed amount of cash. A small safe was also damaged in the incident.
The dismissed charges were related to a third burglary in August at Check Into Cash, 2390 Diers Ave., Suite 102, and a January 2022 burglary at Pumper’s, 1904 N. Diers Ave. However, Faz was ordered to pay $1,515.18 in restitution to these businesses.
Faz is scheduled to be sentenced in Hall County Court on the two burglary charges at 10 a.m. Aug. 4.
