Hampton Township is continuing its annual tradition of holding a Community Day for its residents, with the pool opening at 11 a.m. and the festivities beginning at 1 p.m. July 3.

This year, the event will be held on the soccer fields near the Community Center to allow for more parking for those wanting to attend. Inflatable attractions will return, along with community and food vendors.

The pool will be open through 4 p.m. with hopes for beautiful weather. Regular rates will apply for all those who would like to take a dip and relax by the pool in the sun.

Between 5,000 and 12,000 have attended the event in past years, so those who plan on doing so may want to arrive early to get a good spot.

“(Hampton Community Day) is a long-standing tradition where people can gather, close to home, and enjoy fireworks and family-friendly fun,” said Melanie Martino of the township’s community services department.

Musical entertainment begins at 1:30 with the Pine Creek Community Band, and the bands No Bad Juju and Desperado are scheduled to perform at 4 and 7:30 ,respectively.

Attendees should plan on spending the day, ending the night at dusk with fireworks for the whole family.
