A woman is in custody after two crashes Thursday morning, one in the Verdi area and the second in Sparks.

The first crash, a hit -and-run crash, occurred around 6:30 a.m. on June 23 on eastbound I-80 near mile marker 4 in the Verdi area. The driver of the suspect vehicle left the scene.

Troopers with the Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol Division stopped the driver at around 6:45 but then she drove away at high rates of speed and the wrong way. Troopers did not pursue, but a few minutes later the driver crashed into another vehicle at Pyramid Way and Prater Way.

The driver of the suspect vehicle is in custody.

Injuries are unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
