Holt County U.S. Route 59 Narrowed For Pavement Repair

The Missouri Department of Transportation says a pavement blow-up in Holt County will narrow a major roadway in the county for repairs.

Holt County U.S. Route 59 at the bridge over Interstate 29, north of Craig, is narrowed to one lane for pavement repairs due to a pavement blow-up. A pavement blow-up occurs when the roadway surface expands at a crack or joint where moisture has seeped in. The crack weakens the pavement, and the heat causes the pavement to buckle and warp.

Crews with Mo-Dot began the repair work today, but the project may extend into tomorrow, Friday, June 23.

Motorists will be guided through the work zones by flaggers. The speed limit through the work zone is reduced to 35 mph around-the-clock until the work is completed

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change
