BLAINE, Wash. – A Blaine man has been arrested after trying to burn down a family member’s trailer.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s spokesperson Deb Slater said that a witness saw the suspect, 32-year-old Landon Larson, ignite the trailer on Holeman Ave in Birch Bay Monday night, June 20th.

Other witnesses were able to extinguish the flames, but they were unable to apprehend Larson, who walked back to his own residence.

Deputies spent three hours trying to contact Larson, who eventually left the house on his own and was taken into custody.

Larson remains at the Whatcom County Jail on $1 million bail.

He has previous arson attempt convictions stemming from 2019, when he tried to ignite a house that was under construction.
