The Grant County Sheriff's Office has identified the 3 victims killed in a car crash near Quincy last week that also left 2 people in serious condition.
The victims were identified as 27-year-old Ernesto Cumplido Martinez, 29-year-old Isidro Rodriguez Salvador, and Irineo Soto Morales, who's age is unknown to investigators. All 3 were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials report the crash happened on Rd Q NW, just north of Martin Rd, at around 10 p.m. June 16. Investigators say the driver failed to negotiate a curve while traveling at a high rate of speed, and went off the road, spinning out of control in the gravel.
4 of the occupants were ejected from the car, one of whom survived. The fifth passenger, who officials say was the only occupant wearing a seatbelt, was found alive inside the car.
The two surviving passengers were transported to a local hospital by ambulance, then airlifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. Officials say the passenger who was wearing a seatbelt is in stable condition, the second is in critical condition.
The Grant County Sherriff's Office Motor Traffic Unit is investigating the wreck. Alcohol and speed are believed to have been contributing factors. Investigators do not yet know who was driving the car at the time.
