Monday evening, several food service businesses in downtown Hillsdale hosted  “Foodie Walk.”

Started by Felicia Finch, from Hillsdale Brewing Company, and Kevin Conant, from Here’s To You Pub and Grub, "Foodie Walk" features a different theme each month from March to October.

"Slider Slide" was the theme for this month, with seven businesses participating in the evening walk, from 6-8 p.m. Hillsdale Brewing Company served fried chicken sliders with blue cheese, lettuce and tomato, as well as a strawberry cookie sandwich. Hillsdale Filling Station Deli put together pulled pork barbecue sliders with provolone and a pickle; and Jilly Beans ended the night with a sweet strawberry and cream dessert slider.

“After COVID, we all needed a little pick me up to get people out and about," Finch said. "This is great for the community, and we love it. It’s fun!”

The general consensus was positive, with crowds showing up at each business for the event.

The Foodie Walk is set to continue with the next couple themes being "Weenie Waddle" in July and "Stick Stagger" in August.
