What's the Buzz: Poolside tunes and a rodeo for some summertime fun

Pick any one of the events happening in and around the area to keep your week busy. Whatever you choose to do, I’ll be highlighting attractions, activities, and festivals right here, every week. From local music and shows to options for those of you who don’t mind traveling a bit, there’s something for everyone. Be sure to check all activities, as cancellations can occur. The events listed are for June 23 to July 2.

Saturday

Saving Abel. The King of Clubs in Columbus will be playing host to Saving Abel. The southern rock band from Mississippi makes their way to the Buckeye State for a rocking good time. The doors open at 6:30. Also gracing the stage will be Rumspringa, Suicide Toyz and Blend. Sunday

Matt Frampton. Sometimes all you need to clear your head is a day in the sun and pool with some killer tunes. If that’s what you’re looking for, head out to see Matt Frampton perform poolside at the Salt Fork Lodge and Conference Center. Frampton has an extremely diverse catalog of music, ranging from covers to originals. The show is free for lodge and cabin guests and day passes are available to the public for $12. July 2

Tucked Away Arena Rodeo. Nothing says Southeastern Ohio like hillside rodeo events. Bring your blankets and chairs and pick a spot to watch some rodeo fun. Mutton busting will begin at 4 p.m., with the rodeo to follow at 5 p.m. Admission is $15, with kids under age 5 admitted for free.   • Friday. 2022 Cambridge Glass Show.  The event is scheduled to run from 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday and from 10:30 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Admission costs $5 and is valid for entry on both days. A pre-show sale is being held from 7 to 11 a.m. on Friday in the gymnasium of St Benedict's, 701 Steubenville Ave., Cambridge. For more information call 740-432-4245.   • Friday and Saturday. Byesville Firemen's Festival. Headlining the event this year are Adam Calvert performing Friday and Bucky Covington on Saturday. The two-day festival will feature a car show, 5K, live music, food, fun, and fireworks.
