The Chicago Blackhawks made a flurry of front-office announcements, promoting Meghan Hunter to assistant GM alongside Mark Eaton, who will remain in the position. Karilyn Pilch was also promoted to director of player personnel, while Brian Campbell’s official title within the organization is adviser of hockey operations.

Hunter will oversee player and team services, team security, contract execution and budgeting in her new role with the Blackhawks. She has been in the organization since the 2020-21 season, serving as director of hockey administration and a scout.

Hunter joins Eaton as an assistant GM for the Blackhawks underneath new GM Kyle Davidson, with Eaton also confirmed as an assistant GM in the announcements. Eaton will oversee the Blackhawks AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, in his new role. He has been in the organization since the 2014-15 season, serving as a development coach for two seasons, the director of player development for four seasons and then as the assistant GM since 2020-21. He also spent 13 seasons playing in the NHL as a defenseman.

“Meghan and Mark have both been important parts of our operation for a number of years and we are lucky to have them in these important and redeveloped roles,” Davidson said in a statement. “Their leadership skills, shared vision with the rest of the leadership team and knowledge of the game gives me plenty of confidence in us achieving our goals.”

Pilch also got a promotion, now serving as the director of player personnel for Chicago. She joined the Blackhawks in 2021 as a scout and part of player personnel.

Brian Campbell also received a new title in his role with the Blackhawks, as he is now an adviser for hockey operations. He spent the last four seasons in the organization as a development coach after retiring from a 17 season NHL career as a defenseman, including two stints in Chicago from 2008-11 and 2016-17.
