CITY OF NEW ORLEANS ISSUES FILM NOTICE FOR LAKESHORE RESIDENTS

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans today announced the feature film “Twisted Metal” will be filming in the Lakeshore neighborhood on Thursday, June 23.

To accommodate filming, “No Parking” signs will be posted on the 700 block of Amethyst Street, 7500 Sardonyx Street, 7500 block Canal Boulevard, 700 block Lakeshore Parkway and the 700 block Topaz Street. Crew parking will be located off-site.

Between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., filming will include sequences of special effects and fire. A “stunt” car will be parked in a driveway, and a gel will be spread on the car which will then “burn” to create smoke. The New Orleans Fire Department has issued a permit to production for the sequence and will be present at all times. Also during filming, Intermittent Traffic Control will be in effect for three to four minutes to ensure the safety of residents.

The filming has been approved and permitted by the New Orleans Film Office. If residents have any questions or concerns, please contact Justin Etienne at (504) 251-4157 or Isabella Renner at (504) 295-7734.

New Orleans is the fourth major production hub in the United States and has maintained this position for the last four years. In 2021, the City hosted television and film productions that directly spent a historic $1 billion in production. This year, as of June 1, productions have contributed approximately $732 million to the local economy.
