After a mild winter and a fairly cool spring, it looks like we're going to get some real summer with this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, much of Northern New England will come close to hitting 90 degrees on Saturday.  It will be nearly as hot on Sunday.

For Central Maine, Saturday will bring us sunny skis and a high temperature of 89 degrees.  Saturday night will be much cooler (obviously), with a low of 60 degrees.  Sunday will be just about as warm as Saturday was.  Sunday will have a high of around 88 degrees to 90 degrees.  By Monday, the temperatures will drop back down to the upper 70s or lower 80s.

Inland New Hampshire will have a forecast that is nearly identical to Central Maine.  Upper 80s on both Saturday and Sunday.

On the coast, of course, it will be quite a bit cooler.  Portland will have a temperature of around 81 on Saturday and will hit the upper 70s on Sunday.

Sure, it is not going to be a heatwave, but it is going to be a nice summer weekend.  This weekend is going to be perfect for spending time on the river or in the pool.  Of course, be safe.  Wear sunscreen, etc.  And, have fun!

Let's just hope we get equally nice weather for the long Independence Day weekend.

9 Closed Maine Amusement & Water Parks

We have put together a list of now closed amusement parks and water parks. Some of these were in operation in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s... Some haven't been around for over a century. ***Keep in mind that some of the information regarding when these places were open and what they offered comes from listener comments and stories passed down by people who visited (or worked at) these parks.
