Lincoln Township voters will have a choice to make
CENTER – No candidates had filed to run for the Wausa Village Board of Trustees in the Nov. 8 general election, as of June 20.
However, three candidates have filed so far to run for the Lincoln Township Board: Incumbents Christopher Carlson and Timothy Johnson, as well as non-incumbent Steve Kumm.
The 2022 incumbent filing deadline for the Nebraska general election is 5 p.m. July 15.
The deadline is for the races of township boards, village boards of trustees, the Cedar-Knox Public Power District Board of Directors, the North Central Public Power District Board of Directors and Educational Service Units 1 and 8 Boards of Directors.
An incumbent is anyone serving in an elective office, even if it is not the office for which he or she is filing.
Non-incumbents have until Aug. 1 to file.
The Knox County Clerk’s Office in Center will be open until 5 p.m. July 15 to accommodate candidates wishing to file for township boards and village boards of trustees.
The Nebraska Secretary of State’s Office in Lincoln also will be open until 5 p.m. that same day to take filings for the public power district boards and the ESU boards.
In addition to Lincoln Township, general election candidate filings at the Knox County Clerk’s Office so far are:
-Addison Township: Incumbents Roy Johnson Jr., David Kramer and Arlen Poppe.
-Central Township: Incumbents Joshua Doerr and Matt Doerr.
-Cleveland Township: Incumbents Dale Kuhlman and Bradley Strope.
-Columbia Township: Incumbents Michael Kumm and Tony Kumm.
-Creighton Township: Incumbent Mark Wilmes.
-Frankfort Township: Incumbent Mark Keck.
-Harrison Township: Incumbent Nick Stelling.
-Hill Township: Incumbents Jeffrey Barger, Gary Eckmann and Randy Hanson.
-Logan Township: Incumbent Michael Brandt.
-Morton Township: Incumbents Eric Bruegman, Lester Ketelsen and Curtis Mackeprang.
-Niobrara Township: Incumbents Rick Metzler and James Tikalsky.
-Peoria Township: Incumbents Neil Guenther, Ricky Jessen and Tony Kauth.
-Raymond Township: Incumbent Frank Hanzlik.
-Union Township: Incumbent Fauniel Bourn.
-Verdigre Township: Incumbent Jerilee Fuchtman.
-Walnut Grove Township: Incumbents Charles Cook, Kevin Cook and Ryan Ruzicka.
-Washington Township: Incumbent John McGlynn. -Western Township: Incumbents Walter Boham,
-Western Township: Incumbents Walter Boham, Willard Ruzicka and James Vesely.
-Bazile Mills Village Board of Trustees: Incumbent Connie Mock.
-Center Village Board of Trustees: Incumbents James Rohrer and Jesse Warriner. Incumbent Max Dvorak had filed, but recently withdrew.
-Niobrara Village Board of Trustees: Incumbents Alan Ruda and Jody Stark.
-Santee Village Board of Trustees: Incumbent Diane LaPointe.
-Verdel Village Board of Trustees: Incumbent Mark Eiler.
