“Gun violence is the challenge of our lifetime and the issue of our era, and we must do all we can to keep families together, our communities whole, and our loved ones safe,” Georgia Democratic Congresswoman Lucy McBath, a leading voice in the gun safety debate, said in a statement Wednesday after details for the Senate’s gun violence prevention package were released.

“For the first time in almost three decades, Republicans and Democrats have come together to address this epidemic of gun violence, and I am proud of the momentum we are building in this fight to keep our children safe. We cannot wait another moment. We must act now and save lives,” McBath said.
