Two Polk County deputies were injured this morning (Wednesday) when the airboat they were in tipped on Maple Lake near Mentor (MN).
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Department the deputies were assisting county highway officials place buoys on the east end of the lake when the boat sank to the bottom.
Both individuals were transported to Essentia Hospital in Fosston by private vehicle with non-life threatening injuries. No one with the highway department were injured. All four individuals were wearing life jackets.
The Grand Forks Sheriff’s Department Dive Team assisted in the recovery of the airboat.
