WHO’S THAT GAL: Erin Doherty

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Doherty stars as Becky Green in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video original title Chloe, which premieres worldwide on the platform this Friday, on June 24. Over the course of six episodes, this psychological thriller series follows Becky Green (Doherty), a social media-obsessed and extremely insecure temp worker who lives with her early onset dementia-addled mother as a 20-something. Desperate to emulate the seemingly perfect and glamorous lives of others on her various social media feeds, Becky frequently cons her way into society and influencer events, all whilst trying to get closer to her favorite Instagrammer, Chloe Fairbourne (Poppy Gilbert).

After Chloe suddenly dies, Becky’s obsession is taken to the next level as she assumes a persona called Sasha and tries to infiltrate Chloe’s old friend group, assuming her lifestyle in an attempt to both grow closer to her and get to the bottom of her mysterious death. In addition to Doherty and Gilbert, the gripping British series also features Pippa Bennett-Warner, Billy Howle, Jack Farthing, Brandon Micheal Hall, and Lisa Palfrey. Be sure to check out all of their great work in Chloe as soon as it drops this week on Amazon Prime Video.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Doherty’s professional onscreen career began in 2017, when she played Jessie Marsh in an episode of BBC period drama Call the Midwife. Since then, she has been swiftly accumulating work over the last several years, making a name for herself as an actress to watch with her performances as Fabienne in two episodes of BBC historical romantic-drama miniseries Les Misérables, Dee in a 2020 episode of comedy-drama Unprecedented, Grace Lindsey in 2020 sci-fi film Intelligent Design, and Maddy in 2020 short comedy film The Last Jeff.

The actress is ultimately best known, however, for playing Princess Anne in Emmy Award-winning Netflix Original historical drama series The Crown from 2019 to 2020.
