Lost Creek homicide victims identified

LOST CREEK, W.Va. — The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department has released the names of the man and woman found in a burned out Lost Creek area home on June 11.

Sheriff Robert Matheny said in a Wednesday’s news release that Chasity C. Romeo, 33. and Corey S. Snider, 43, both of Lost Creek, were discovered in the basement of the burning home on Good Hope Pike.

The investigation has confirmed both victims died as a result of gunshot wounds prior to the fire.

Detectives have said a person of interest has been identified and the homicide investigation is classified as “active.”

The case is being investigated by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office Detective Unit, the Harrison County Violent Crimes and Drug Task Force and the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office.
