Art grant applications now available

LAFAYETTE — Applications are being accepted through July 1 for the Louisiana Division of the Arts funded, and Acadiana Center for the Arts administered, Louisiana Project Grant. Applications are on AcA’s website, according to an AcA news release.
Louisiana Project Grants are open to submissions from nonprofit organizations, local government agencies, schools, school boards, colleges, universities and any organization or individual with a fiscal sponsor who have an arts-based project that benefits the community.
Previous examples of arts projects include: artist residency program, free symphony music in the park, and film festival professional development workshops.
Through this program, LDOA aims to: foster diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility across the state; stimulate healthy competition in submissions; increase creativity, innovation and awareness of new trends in project development; encourage artists to undertake projects that have meaningful community collaboration; and leverage additional local and national support for the arts in Louisiana.
Priorities include an emphasis on innovation and artistry, risk-taking and cross-parish partnerships between larger, urban organizations and their rural counterparts within the Acadiana region.
A well-defined 50% cash-match is required that can be used for costs allowable under the grant guidelines.
Grant guidelines information can be found at https://acadianacenterforthearts.org/community/louisiana-project- grants/. Potential applicants are encouraged to contact the Community Development Department on 337-233-7060 to discuss eligibility before submitting.
