Inside, there are three bedrooms, including a loft with four twin beds. Plop on the lived-in leather sofas that circle the fireplace or whip up a family-style meal in the kitchen. Buckhill Falls is just down the road; you can take a five-minute drive to hike at Mt. Wismer or zip-line at Skytop Adventure Center, or head to Camelback for skiing and tubing. It’s a studio, so it’ll sleep one or two people. You can bring animals for a small pet fee.

This treehouse allows you to sleep in the forest with your pals. It sits on 20 acres of land with trails throughout for walking and biking. It’s in New Jersey, a little farther from the Poconos than the others on this list, but it’s an easily driveable trip if you want to check out the mountains. The treehouse itself has a loft that sleeps two, but if you walk down the path there’s a big yurt (glamping, anyone?) with two twin cots. It includes some excellent outdoor amenities, like a covered grill situation, big firepit, and an open-air porch with plenty of comfy seating for outdoor meals. The base of the treehouse was turned into a screened in porch so you can hang out—without the bugs.
