After nearly 17 years learning how the Dickson County Chamber of Commerce works and meeting many people in the community, Jennie Wagner was named president of the Chamber this month.

In this role, Wagner will “maintain the daily operations of the Chamber and will continue the mission of the Chamber in supporting area businesses,” according to a Chamber press release.

“I am so excited about this amazing new opportunity that the board has given me,” Wagner said.  “After being at the chamber for almost 17 years, I know so many people in the community and their support has been both humbling and overwhelming.

Previous president Corey Albert resigned in February.

A Middle Tennessee native, Wagner received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration degree from Middle Tennessee State University and worked on Music Row for several notable country music artists before beginning her work at the Dickson County Chamber in 2005. At the Chamber, she has held positions of increasing responsibility including information specialist, officer manager, and most recently the director of finance and operations.

Wagner is a member of the Tennessee Association of Community Leadership and is a graduate and current program director of Leadership Dickson County. She serves on the boards of Dickson County’s Habitat for Humanity and the Leadership Dickson County Alumni Association. Wagner resides in Dickson County with her husband of 31 years, Bobby, and their daughter, Sydney.

“Jennie has demonstrated professionalism during her years at the Chamber. She is respected in the community and is committed to the success of the Chamber and the businesses it serves”, said Laura Travis, current Chair of the Dickson County Chamber Board of Directors.

Wagner said the Chamber staff of Shea Schroeder, Jessica Hollingsworth, and Dana Ramsey are working to develop new events, groups and educational workshops for our members.

“I am looking forward to growing our membership and plan to visit current members each week,” Wagner said.
