DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — A man is now in custody after police say he was involved in a shootout with officers.
Douglasville Police officers responded around 10 p.m. to a call at the Gateway Village neighborhood. The call said a man was “behaving abnormally.”

The officer and suspect exchanged shots before police say the man took off in a car.
When they arrived, one of the officers spotted the man firing a gun.

Police said the man didn’t get very far. He crashed the car just a short distance away.
The man is being observed at a local hospital. No one was hit by the gunfire, according to investigators.
Police have not released the suspect’s name.
