    Melvin Carl Flynn, 84, of Marble, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022.
    Melvin was born in Purgitsville, W.Va., to the late Melvin Carl and Bertha Mildred Rinker Flynn.
    He was employed as an IT Technician.
    Melvin loved to travel, gardening, cruises, stamp collecting and loved his wife. He also loved going to church, Sunday school and was a member of Marble Springs Baptist Church. Melvin was also a United States Army veteran.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marlene Flynn; an infant son, Bobby Flynn; and his brothers, John Flynn and James Flynn.
    He is survived by his wife, Lena Flynn; a daughter, Juanita Whited; his sisters, Wanda Richardson, Kathryn Bailey and Alice Little; his grandchildren, James Tyson, Alyssa Archer and Bryan Whited; and three great-grandchildren.
    A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 18,  at Marble Springs Baptist Church. Pastor John Bailey officiated. Burial was in Moss Cemetery. Pallbearers were Howard Coffey, Gary Rogers, Gary Galloway, Mike Erwin, Larry Wishon and John Mason.
    The family received friends from noon-1 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Marble Springs Baptist Church.
