Dayton Daily News: CCM alum Alex Stone featured in national tour of ‘Fiddler on the Roof’
The beloved Broadway musical comes to Dayton’s Schuster Center June 21-26
The Dayton Daily News recently caught up with CCM alum Alex Stone (BFA Musical Theatre, ‘19) ahead of his appearance at the Schuster Center as part of the national touring company of Fiddler on the Roof. The iconic musical returned to Broadway for its 50th anniversary in 2015, and Stone has been part of the show’s touring cast since 2021.

Stone portrays Sasha in the touring production, and local audiences may remember him from his performances in CCM’s productions of Mack and Mabel (as Mack Sennett), Jesus Christ Superstar (as Judas), Sondheim on Sondheim (as Tom Wopat) and Runaways (as Eddie).
In his conversation with Dayton Daily News staff writer Meredith Moss, Stone cited his role as Quasimodo in CCM's 2019 production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame as a personal favorite. During that CCM production's run, League of Cincinnati Theatres reviewer Sheldon Polonsky hailed Stone's performance, writing "But it is Alex Stone as Quasimodo who absolutely owns this production. His clear tenor voice reverberates flawlessly in the Corbett Auditorium and he draws in the audience with an absolutely authentic and riveting performance."
"[My time at CCM] fundamentally changed my view of acting," Stone told the Dayton Daily News. "It’s less of a sense of just playing a character on stage and more a sense of viewing everyone else on stage. You’re creating a whole world."
The national tour of Fiddler on the Roof plays June 21-26 at the Schuster Center as part of Premiere Health’s Broadway in Dayton series.
About CCM Musical Theatre
CCM set the standard for musical theatre training ... literally. CCM Musical Theatre was the first program of its kind in the US, and it continues to be a leader in the industry. A four-year bachelor of fine arts (BFA) program, it was used by the National Association of Schools of Theatre in formulating the guidelines for the accreditation of Musical Theatre programs nationwide.
The program provides professional conservatory training designed to help singers, dancers and actors become accomplished musical theatre performers. Students represent CCM in national and international touring productions, in dinner theatres and theme parks, on cruise ships, on television, in talent agencies, as producers and in many of the related entertainment fields.
