    Glenda Curtis Shields, 75, of Murphy, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 18, 2022.
    She was born in Murphy on Nov. 24, 1946, to the late Paul Curtis and Dorothy Curtis Moss.
    Glenda was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Murphy. Her favorite pastime included reading, crocheting, sewing and spending time with her family.
    Glenda was preceded in death by her brother, Robert “Ronnie” Curtis.
    She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gene Edward Shields; two sisters, Frances “Fran” Curtis King and Sylvia Curtis and husband Carroll Weaver; one daughter, Sandra Silvers and husband Michael; one son, Gregory Shields and wife Lisa; four grandchildren, Tyler Shields, Dylan Shields, Maria (Ray) Stiles and Amy Trull; two step grandchildren, Megan (Lee) Galloway and Drew Silvers; and nine great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
    Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Pastor Steve Ware officiated.
    The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.  
    A graveside service will be held at a later date with Pastor Carroll Weaver officiating.
