The Copper Crow, an Albany stable for fine food & craft cocktails will re-open it's doors on July 15th at 5pm.
The restaurant had been closed for six months after frozen pipes in the warehouse above sent over 65,000 gallons of water cascading into the bar & restaurant causing extensive damage to the historic space back in January. The restaurant will initially be open Tuesday through Thursday from 5pm to midnight and Friday and Saturday from 5pm until 1am.
We were devastated when we initially saw the extent of the damage” states co-owner Kayleigh Pierce. “All the work we had done in the space, it was completely destroyed. Thankfully we were able to move quickly, to get the right contractors in place and to start the task of cleanup and rebuilding almost immediately.”
Andrew Kirk first opened a brewery on the site in 1832 and the current building was operated as a brewery and malt house by nine different companies until just after the turn of the nineteenth century, producing primarily ales and porters.

Only two end portions of the back bar had to be rebuilt. The majority of the ceiling, the back third of the restaurant, portions of the bathrooms and the center vestibules were all partially or completely reconstructed and returned to their appearance prior to the flooding.
Chef Timothy Gates, both the man and his food, quickly became part of the soul of this establishment,” states co-owner Jason Pierce. “Had we not been able to retain him I'm not certain we would have even made the decision to reopen.”
The Copper Crow's food menu, developed by chef Timothy Gates and co-owner Jason Pierce, will continue to feature an eclectic array of internationally inspired global fusion dishes that incorporate ideas, ingredients and methods of preparation from around the world.
