A Scotia woman has been sentenced to two to 10 years in prison for her role in a fatal 2019 crash.
According to Valley County Court records, Kelsie Privoznik-Bloom, 30, of Scotia, was given the sentence for one count of manslaughter.
The charge was reduced from a charge of motor vehicle homicide-DUI. She pled no contest to the charge in March.
In exchange for her plea, prosecutors dropped charges of DUI drugs, willful reckless driving and no proof of insurance. Prosecutors also dismissed a separate case where Privoznik-Bloom was charged with two counts of intentionally violating a narcotics drug law and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
In an arrest affidavit, a Valley County Sheriff’s deputy said that on Sept. 23, 2019, Kelsie Privoznik-Bloom was high and speeding when she crossed the center line two miles northwest of Ord on Highway 11, crashing into a southbound Grand Am driven by then-52-year-old Sandy Psota of Ord.
Psota was pronounced dead at the scene.
The affidavit says Privoznik-Bloom received only minor injuries in the crash.
Privoznik-Bloom later consented to a blood and urine test at the hospital. The urine test revealed the presence of Celexa/Lexapro (antidepressants), Cyclobenzaprine (a muscle relaxer), Hydrocodone, Norhydrocodone and Demrol (an opioid pain medication).
