The Essex County Parks System has released the 2022 Essex County Free Summer Music Concert Series lineup. The series will feature the Chatham Community Band, The Amazing Grace Little Band and 80′s Revolution.
“Our Free Concert Series offers a diverse lineup of performers who will take center stage in venues throughout our historic Essex County Park System. Pack a blanket, enjoy the cool evening breeze and dance to the sounds of classical, rock and roll, jazz, big band, Latin and more,” said Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr.
The Chatham Community Band
Founded in 1984, the Chatham Community Band includes over 60 musicians of all ages and backgrounds. While none of its members are professional musicians, they “love performing for audiences of all sizes, including concerts at community events, nursing homes and assisted living facilities. “They are participating in the concert series as part of the Wellness on the Waterfront program. The Chatham Community Band will perform on Tuesday, July 5, at 7 p.m. The concert will be held at the Essex County South Mountain Recreation Complex, Clipper Pavilion, Cherry Lane, West Orange.
The Amazing Grace Little Band
The Amazing Grace Little Band is comprised of eight very talented musicians: two lead vocalists, a full rhythm section and a sax player. They perform Jazz, pop, rock, R&B, funk, reggae, Top 40, swing, soul, Latin and pop. The group is led by Grace Little, who has performed in “The Wiz,” “Dream Girls” and “Oh Calcutta.” The Amazing Grace Little Band will perform on Wednesday, July 6, at 7 p.m. in Essex County Veterans Memorial Park, West Market Street, Newark.
80′s Revolution
80′s Revolution is the “ultimate show band highlighting the hits that drove people to the dance floor in the 1980s.” The 80′s Revolution takes the audience back in time when Pat Benatar, Def Leppard, Journey, The Outfield, Michael Jackson, ABBA, Loverboy, Cindi Lauper, Rick James, Madonna and Van Halen “ruled the airwaves.” The band features the vocal talents of Gloria Carpenter, Chelsey Caulfield, Kati Joel and Laura Turk. 80′s Revolution will perform on Friday, July 8, at 7:30 p.m. in Essex County Brookdale Park, Watchung Avenue, Bloomfield.
The SummerMusic Concert Series is being sponsored by Rose Squared Productions and The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey. The series is also made possible, in part, by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.
