A new hot pot restaurant slated for a September opening in Sugar Land has been delayed.

Volcano Hot Pot, the Tallahassee, Florida-based hot pot franchise, will now open its new location at 3434 Hwy. 6, Sugar Land, in either November or December, the franchisee, Jia Hui Jang, said via phone to Community Impact Newspaper.

The delay from the restaurant’s original September opening date comes as the restaurant awaits permitting approval as well as delivery of a new air conditioning unit, Jang said.

“Right now it’s taking five months to get that unit,” Jang said.

When opened, Volcano Hot Pot will allow customers to cook their own food. The restaurant offers customers a choice of soup base, protein, vegetables and other items for a buffet. www.volcanohotpot.com
